From school dropout to boardroom boss
Frankie Grit left school at 16 with no qualifications, no clue, and a chip on his shoulder the size of a filing cabinet.
He bumbled through a string of dead-end jobs, the kind where ambition goes to die, before landing in an insurance company as a bottom rung paper pusher. Filing policies, answering phones, clock watching. Nothing glamorous.
Frankie has been a grumpy old man since his early 20's!
He could’ve stayed there forever. But then he met a manager who saw something more. Someone who challenged him, showed him what leadership looked like, and crucially opened his eyes to money, mindset, and momentum.
That spark lit the fire.
Fast forward a few years and Frankie wasn’t just climbing the greasy pole, he was greasing it himself. He became one of the first non-legal partners in a UK law firm, kicked down a few boardroom doors, and spent over a decade in senior leadership and board positions across multiple industries.
Eventually, he landed the top job, running not one but three different businesses over the next decade.
Some thrived...........
Frankie knows the gut-punch of a business owner, watching a business he was in charge of, collapse during the energy crisis.
It was his fault, he was in the chair. Others said it wasn't, but Frankie knew as the man in charge, the buck stopped with him.
He also knows what it takes to bounce back, because he did.
Frankie launched a new venture, built his own coaching firm, and found his real calling:
Helping other business owners stop winging it and start building something that works.
These days, he lives in a rambling old farmhouse in Southern Scotland with Mrs Grit (long suffering, still fabulous) and five dogs rescued from Turkey who run the place.
He doesn’t do fluff. He doesn’t do jargon. He definitely doesn’t do corporate waffle.
But if you want someone who’s been there, done it, messed it up, fixed it, and now helps others do the same, Frankie’s your man.
Because nothing gets him fired up like kicking a business owner into action and watching them finally get results.
